Last year I won my league’s championship, how do I claim my free team this year?
After winning your fantasy league you should have received an award code via e-mail. Use your award code when checking out and your fee will be automatically credited. If you cannot locate your award code, just drop us an
e-mail
.
Can I control which fantasy teams are placed in each division within my league?
After your league is filled, the League Commissioner can update the division assignments up until your league's draft.
What is a "talent pool?"
A talent pool is a group of schools whose players you can use on your fantasy team. Because there are over 100 teams in Division I-A football with up to 85 scholarships each, many leagues like to narrow down the amount of available players in their league.
We suggest using a 4:1 ratio of schools to fantasy teams. For example, if your league is setup with 8 fantasy teams, we suggest that you use roughly 32 schools to make up your talent pool. This ratio will allow all teams to field a competitive team, while limiting the amount of superstar free agents. Of course you can choose as many schools as you want to be in your talent pool, up to all Division I-A/Bowl Subdivision schools.
How do I invite others to join my league?
Click on "Invite new teams" on the "Team/Registration Status". This will send an e-mail to your friends with your message and the registration instructions.
When registering your league you will also have the opportunity to provide the e-mail addresses of those you wish to invite to your league automatically.
Can I submit an online payment for other fantasy teams in my league?
At any point, any team owner can elect to pay for any of the unpaid balances of the registered teams.
This option can be found on the "Team/Registration Status" page.
Can I sign up an individual team that is not part of a private league?
Yes. Just elect to join a public league when you sign up.
After registering my team, how long do I have to pay for my team?
After registering you will have access to all U-Sports features for one week. After a week, you will have limited access until payment is received.
Public league teams need to submit payment at the time of registration to secure their spot in the league.
Scoring
[

]
Will my running back get credit if he throws a touchdown pass?
Yes. Any offensive player will get credit for any type of offensive statistic. A running back who throws a touchdown pass on a trick play will get credit for a passing touchdown. If your league chooses to use "strict" enforcement of dual-position players, stats will only be credited based on the player's position in the fantasy team's lineup. (This only applies to the very small percentage of players categorized as multi-positional.)
Can I get credit for a special teams touchdown if the punt/kick returner is also my wide receiver?
No. All special teams and defensive scores are credited only to the “Defense/Special Teams” position.
Do games played on a day other than Saturday count for U-Sports?
Yes. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday games are included with the following Saturday’s games. Sunday and Monday games will be included with the previous Saturday’s games.
How do I report a scoring discrepancy on U-Sports?
If you find a scoring error, simply send us an
e-mail
with the the source of information that you found.
Score discrepancies, instances where two different major news sources report different information, should be handled through your league commissioner who can override scores if needed.
Scoring errors need to be reported by the next Wednesday.
What is an "Extra RB/WR"?
When configuring your league's lineup options, you have the choice to select how many QB's, RB's, WR's, Kickers and Defenses you want on each team's lineup.
You can also select the number of "Extra RB/WR's." This allows the teams in your league the flexibility of using a different amount of running backs vs. wide receivers each week.
For example if your league was setup to have 2 RB's, 2 WR's, 1 Extra RB/WR on each lineup, teams could select either 2 RB's and 3 WR's, or 3 RB's and 2 WR's.
Players

]
One of my players is injured, but he is not listed on the injury reports.
The injury list is for reference purposes only it is not a comprehensive list of all injuries. With the new health insurance privacy legislation, injury reports have become less reliable.
How do I find a "free agent" player to add to my roster?
The "Player Search" section is where you can search for all players. Players who are available free agents will be highlighted and you will be able to add them to your team.
If my roster is full, what happens if I accept a 2-for-1 trade?
You will be able to accept the trade, however if the trade leaves you with more players than allowed at any position, you will have to drop a player before you will be able to edit your weekly lineups.
How do I select my starting lineup?
After your league's draft is processed you will be able to set your weekly lineup in the "Rosters/Lineups" section.
When are lineups due?
Every team can make changes to their lineup throughout the weekend. However, the team will not be allowed to add or remove players on schools that have already begun playing.
When a fantasy teams has been eliminated from playoff contention, can they make changes to their roster?
The league commissioner sets what types of transactions can be made by playoff-eliminated teams.
You can reference which transactions are allowed on the "League Options" page.
The Draft
[
]
What is the difference between a live, automated or upload draft?
The live draft is scheduled by the league commissioner and conducted online. Each team has a set time per pick (also set by the league commissioner) and inbetween picks can chat with other team owners, view the draft results, and set their draft queue.
The automated draft lets each team owner rank players by position and determine which position should be drafted in each round. On Draft Day each fantasy team is assigned players using the draft selections and a randomly generated draft order. There are three types of draft order options that your league can use: fixed, reversed every round (snake), or re-random for each round.
The upload draft is an option for leagues that wish to run their own controlled draft. The league commissioner, or each team individually, can import their draft results. After all draft selections have been entered, the league commissioner can process the draft results online.
What happens if a team cannot attend a live draft, or has to leave early?
A team will be assigned players for each pick based on the fantasy team's pre-ranking of players. The initial list of players is ranked according to last year's performance and can be edited at any point before the draft by each fantasy team.
The league commissioner can determine how many picks can be missed before a team is automatically set to auto-draft.
How can I request a manual draft?
The league commissioner can request a manual draft by using the "League Options" feature.
Can we holdover players who were on our team last year?
Premium League Commissioners can select holdovers for the league. Players who are deemed holdovers will not be able to be selected on other teams' draft cards.
If your league is using a live or manual draft simply include the players you wish to select in the results. How you select the players is up to your league.
One of the players I am looking to draft does not appear in the selection box, how can I select him?
U-Sports is pre-loaded with the players who are most likely to be drafted, but we can add additional players at any time by request. If you are participating in a live draft and want to add an unlisted player, you can arrange with your league commissioner to draft a "placeholder" player to be replaced after the draft.
Playoffs
[
]
Which teams make the playoffs?
The top team from each division, plus the next best two overall teams at the end of the season will reach the playoffs. Teams are ranked by total wins, division wins, head-to-head results and finally by total points scored during the season.
Premium league owners can also elect one of the following playoff schemes:
Top 2 From Each Division
2 Division Winners plus 2 Wildcards
Top 4 From Each Division (9 Week regular season)
No Playoffs (13 Week regular season)
Please see the rulebook for a more detailed description of all of the playoff structures.
Why are playoff points cumulative?
Depending on your league settings, the League Championship score may also include points scored in previous playoff rounds.
Are there any prizes for winning my League's Championship?
All prize-eligible league champions will be in the running for the more than $10,000 in prizes that we award to the top 25 teams at season's end.
In addition, every 2007 League Champion wins a free U-Sports team for the 2008 season.
If my leauge elects to have no playoffs, which team wins the free team for next year?
The team with the best record will be considered the League Champion. Ties are broken by head-to-head records, and then total points scored.
